Front Room in the making

The Front Room... still in the making. We've mostly finished the painting, and started hanging artwork, but there's still several parts that are not finished, but here's the beginning of the project!

The Beginning. Wallpaper through the whole room. Hubby loves it, but me not so much. We ended up leaving the big wall with the wallpaper, and tearing out the rest of it. Compromise is the key to a happy marriage!

A new coat of paint on the walls, a few lamps to light the area, and an Ikea shelf for bench, it's the beginning of greatness.

Here's one of the two photo collages that I put together in the room. I started by laying it out on the floor, then transferring it to the wall one picture at a time. This one sits up above the couch.

Here's the second of the collages, this one is above the bench.

Here is one of two end tables that I found for 10 dollars a piece at a thrift store. They're very outdated right now, but I have some plans... Just need to get the materials!
A dirty other side of the room view... 3 big 6ft tall windows along the wall with Hubby's computer desk. I have a few ideas to make those more of a show piece instead of a yucky window covering that darkens the room so much.

And... A Christ Statue that my Father gave us as a house warming present. I like it being showcased over the television.

Another crafty project. Original idea found here. I made a menu instead of a Weekly To Do list, but I might be changing it. I like the idea of the To Do List better than the menu, plus I have better ideas for a weekly menu planner... coming soon...
I still need to fix the windows, make a bench cushion, and paint the end tables.
I'm going to use these materials:

The stripes are going to be the bench, and the sunflower type pattern is going to be for the curtains and the tops of the end tables. I'm then going to take the sunflower pattern, and paste it onto the tops of the end tables, and paint the rest of it in the colors from the patterns. The curtains are going to be roman shades that I'm making with the current blinds. I'm not convinced that I'm satisfied with the wall colors, however, so I'm going to finish the blinds and bench, then re-evaluate the color scheme for the walls.

We'll see how it all goes together!
