Star Wars Kitchen

I had totally forgotten that I had this blog, since no one ever actually read it. I've been wanting to post some pictures of different projects online, so this seems like a good place to put them all. Maybe my ramblings could help someone, maybe it'll never be read, but I can't help anyone if I don't put it out there.

We moved into this house a year and a half ago, and the first room I decided to theme out was our kitchen. I had several Star Wars kitchen items already which is where the idea for a Star Wars kitchen came from in the first place. Star Wars is close to our hearts, though, because I met my husband at the midnight showing of Star Wars Episode 3. We continued to talk to each other because of a friend's fan film he had us both work on. Star Wars felt fitting after all that history.

Our blank slate kitchen was very basic, very generic and bland. Unfortunately, we are renting so any changes needed to be removable so no changing major things like redoing the backsplash, or painting cabinets or anything like that.

I started with general kitchen things- soap dispensers, hand towels, decorations, hot pads. A lot of these kinds of things were easily accessible on Amazon or Ebay, but some things didn't exist, so I had to make them.

Decorations were simple, Grogu figurines, lightsabers, even robotic droids from Galaxy's Edge from our trip to Disney World.
I got some fun instant pot wraps to add some fun for those.

The other things were the fun part though... I used my embroidery machine to add some Star Wars kick to my blank washcloths... and my sewing machine to make some reusable washcloths that snap together.

Next up, I wanted some more hotpads, but I couldn't find any that fit my specific idea in my brain... So I made them. I also made a table pad for putting hot pans and cookie sheets onto. Fabulous.

Next up, my bench was hard and my chairs were ugly, so I gave them a facelift and fresh cushion... I got the fabric from Michael's, sprayed the chairs with gray spray paint and added some fun details on the sides.

And of course I couldn't have fun chairs with a super basic table.. This was given to us by a close friend, but it needed refinishing. So I added some fun... Laser engraver, paint and more fun matching details.

Next up, I took a cutting board and made a conversion chart. I found it worked great for behind my stove as a decorative but also useful backdrop.

The next projects I started working on, required my 3d printer.... Soap Dispensers! They turned out so cute... I also made lightsaber drawer pulls. I love 3d printing.

I put some some vinyl on some basic kitchen stuff- toaster, kitchenaid mixer, flour jars...

More 3d Printing projects- mixing spoon bowls. Or helmets. Mando needed some representation too! Soap wand container!

My last project for the time being, is a little deathstar globe. I will be adding more projects I'm sure. I have some fun ideas for a knife block and maybe even a light fixture or two... Until then, enjoy the journey that is my Star Wars kitchen.
